Winter Wonderland

We took a few photos of the raised beds and frame today because they look so lovely covered in snow. What a difference the cloche with the net makes to the ground, you’ll see from the photo. But the close up picture is my garlic pointing through the snow bravely.

Come January, I intend to really get stuck in with sowing some more seeds for the square foot spaces and also looking at chitting potatoes – whatever that means! More advice to be sought.

Thank you for those of you who have left a message on this blog, it gives me a huge boost to know I’m not just talking to myself all the time.

Have a happy and healthy Christmas and here’s to a wonderful 2010.

Hi Anne, just stumbled upon your blog and have enjoyed reading the backlog. I saw the Access mini greenhouses at Hampton Court last summer and was impressed with their quality. Now that I have an allotment, I need to think about how I’m going to raise all the seeds I’d like to try. But I too am a novice gardener, so I shall keep a watchful eye on your blog (for guidance!).
    Happy New Year!

Hi Kate. Lovely to hear from you. I was on the Access stand for 3 days at Hampton Court last year. Did we chat? I really recommend the Square Foot gardening book to go alongside your allotment. It keeps things really simple and easy to manage. A frame would benefit too of course!

Please keep in touch and come and chat at the next show.

    Anne.
